Inquiry Project – Process Post
For our inquiry project, my group is exploring the topic of gamification and engagement in online learning. Specifically, we are investigating whether game-based learning, such as points, rewards, challenges, and interactive activities, can improve student engagement and knowledge retention in online courses. We are also interested in learning whether these strategies genuinely improve learning outcomes or if they only make learning more enjoyable.
So far, our group has completed our project proposal and met a few times to talk about the start of our project. During our meetings, we worked on narrowing our topic, finding key questions we want to answer, and brainstorming how we want to organize our research into an infographic. We decided that an infographic would be an effective way to communicate information because it allows us to combine text, visuals, statistics, and graphics in a format that is easy to understand and engaging for viewers.
Over the next week, we want to start working on the main components of the project. This will include organizing our research into a shared Google Doc, finding the most relevant information, and designing the layout of our infographic in Canva.
Overall, the start of our inquiry project is going smoothly, but there is still lots to work on.
